So many Western writers — how to pick a few favourites? Louis L’Amour, of course. Max Brand, who I discovered early as a kid in the school library, along with Zane Grey. Giles A Lutz. Merle Constiner. Nye. Trimble. Hogan. Shirreffs. Patten. Cord. Lomax. Most of ’em I found in those ACE Doubles — a great buy for a kid with his own summer wages… But my fave Western writer became Tom West. His language. His characters. A wry, wry humour. Recently, in Tribute to Tom, I’ve put together his complete published book list. Yes, and with uncommon audacity I call it “complete.” If you know of any additional titles, I’d love to hear from you.
